A traditional timber frame carport, built with sturdy craftsmanship, serves as a versatile utility structure spanning 45 m2. Both open compartments offer windbreak and shelter, not just for parking, but also create an ideal space for outdoor picnics. The low-profile roof seamlessly complements existing structures, adding a charming artisanal touch.

The symmetrically placed wings of the car shelter are wide enough for comfortable parking. In the middle, there is a lockable warehouse where you can store car items, maybe an electric car charging station equipment or gardening tools. It is also possible to insulate the middle part and use it as a boiler room.

The extended side overhangs of the roof serve to provide protection for longer vehicles as well.

Timber frame construction

Supporting the structure will require eight column foundations, with concrete pavement serving as the flooring for both the enclosed and open sections.

The load-bearing decorative posts are joined with tie beams and wall girts. The bottom beam of the roof extends beyond the side walls to create a larger roof overhang. Bracing ensures the building's stability and reduces the spans of the beams. Walls are sheathed with 28 mm horizontal T&G boarding, while the gable walls have an overlapped board arrangement.

Roofing installation offers flexibility with or without underlayment. For example, Option NR.1 features a metal roof with an anti-condensate coating on horizontal battens and no additional underlayment. On the other hand, Option NR.2 incorporates T&G boarding over the rafters, serving as an underlay, followed by a diffusion membrane, battens, and the final roofing.

The structure is designed for installation on pale foundations. Wall cladding, roofing, and other finishing elements should be selected according to your preferences within the project scope, or to match existing buildings. Quantities and details are available upon request and are included in the project package, which also contains foundation and floor plans, elevations, sections, and more.
